Rose & Co Blog: Sawyer's Nursery Reveal

Sawyer's Nursery Reveal

You know you're excited for a blog post to go live when you can barely sleep the night before because you know you're just a few hours from pressing "publish!" Or maybe I couldn't sleep because there was a 5 pound baby kicking my bladder all night long...but that is beside the point. :)

Dun...dun....da da dunnn!!!!!!!!! Our little man's nursery is finally complete. As soon as we found out we were having a boy, everyone started asking "what is the theme of your nursery!" and I always answered with, "no theme! Just alllll boy!" I really couldn't be more excited for how it turned out.

In typical Rose fashion, Jake and I DIY'ed so many elements of this room, and as each piece was finished, it was like we were that much closer to welcoming our son. As women, we're so lucky (and unlucky sometimes, lets be honest!) to get to feel these little ones growing and changing. Jake doesn't get to feel it the same way that I do, and I feel like all the DIY in this room really helped him bond and prepare for life with his first born.

His collage wall/diaper changing station could be my favorite place ever. We built the pegboard and I just freehanded a weird design to make it pop. The little wood piece at the bottom will have his birth stats once he arrives, but for now it just hangs on the wall as part of the woodsy aesthetic.

I think we'll add a few more baskets as he grows. We'll need one for binkies/distractions from diaper changes, and a little basket for diaper creams and lotions.

Side note, are newborn diapers the cutest things you've ever seen or WHAT?! How is a little booty seriously going to fit in there?!

We all know the work that went into building that Wood Pallet Wall, but it was well worth every painstaking hour. I love the feature it brings into the room. Because it's so bright and graphic, I decided I didn't want to do any special bedding. Just white sheets, white crib, and as he grows we can add a bumper to keep his noggin' bruise free!

On that back wall, we just sawed a crate in half, stained it to match the rest of the room, and Jake added a piece of wood to the bottom for stability, and now we have the perfect book nook! I hope our baby boy loves reading as much as his mama does. When he is old enough to appreciate it, hopefully we can add a fun tee-pee and make it his little hideaway. A few weeks ago my family came over to check out the progress on the room, and Kaedyn made me read him every.single.book. on my lap, in the rocker. He may forget he isn't the baby anymore once Sawyer arrives. :)

Those drawers are FULL of baby stuff. From onesies to sleepers to diapers, every single drawer is filled to the brim! We've been so blessed with friends and fam gifting our little guy with everything he could ever need. If you guys want to see how I organized everything, let me know in the comments below, i'd be happy to throw a post together on it!

First of all, I can't handle this little hedgehog with a bowtie. So.stinking.cute. Second of all, how cool is that arrow marquee?! It has a little switch that will be perfect for a nightlight for those late PM nursing sessions.

My sweet friend, Michelle, hand-made this card for Sawyer, and it was too pretty to just stash away. I knew we had to frame it! We will fill the other empty frame with a sweet little squishy newborn photo. (preferably with a little nakie booty in it!)

This pillow was the happiest find! It's actually a Christmas pillow we saw at Hobby Lobby, but it ties in the grey and browns of the space just perfectly.

These little woodland prints just melt me! The second I saw them I needed them in his room. They were a FREE printable found via We Lived Happily Ever After. Aren't they precious?!

And that my friends, is that. If you have any questions about sources for the room, please comment below. We're so proud of the space and can't WAIT for the next 6 weeks (give or take!) to fly by so we can put a baby in it!

Thanks so much for reading!

Until Next Time,
