Oh yes it's LADIES NIGHT!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I love Tuesdays that feel like Mondays! Did you all have the most beautiful long weekend? I hope so!

Before we get started, I really wanted to thank each and every one of you for the amazingly sweet words congratulating my little old blog on one whole year. I seriously think you guys are the best readers in the blogosphere, and i'm just so thankful every single day for your support.

With that being said, I am SO excited to be collaborating with the stunning Kayla from A Darling Dream to bring you some fun ladies night inspiration! I don't know about you, but there is nothing I love quite like a ladies night. Whether it's in or out, cocktails with the girls is always a good idea!

I think ladies night is the perfect opportunity to jump out of your makeup comfort zone. Your gals won't judge you, and it's a great chance to try something new! This is what I came up with:

Face Routine:

  • Hard Candy Perfecting Primer
  • Make Up Forever HD Foundation (Covergirl 3 in 1 is an excellent drugstore dupe!)
  • Josie Maran Argon Oil Illuminator
  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer (I forgot to put her in the picture!)
  • Stila Portrait of a Perfect Blush
  • L'Oreal True Match Powder
  • Too Faced Bronzer

By now you lovely ladies know my face routine. I moisturize, let it sink in for 5 minutes at least, and then prime with my Hard Candy Perfecting Primer. (LOVE THAT STUFF!) It's important to prime when you're going out, especially if drinks will be involved. I don't know if it's just me, but makeup just melts off me when the cocktails start flowing!

I mix foundation and the illuminator together and blend it really well with my beauty blender. Then, using the light color of my LM concealer, I highlight under my eyes, the bridge of my nose, and on my chin. Set everything with a light coat of powder.

Bring some color to your face with some blush and use a very light hand with bronzer on the contours  of your face. Done!

eye makeup

Eyes:
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • POP Beauty Eyeshadow Trio
  • Mary Kay Gel Liner
  • Bombshell Mascara
  • NYX Wonder Pencil
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo
  • Benefit Speed Brow
I like to keep the eyes so simple when doing a bright lip. I recently got this fun POP Beauty eyeshadow trio in an Ipsy Bag (click the link to learn more!) and i've been dying to use it. I used the lightest color all over the lid, the middle color in the crease, and the darkest along my lower lash line. Very easy and not too dramatic! Finish off with a fun cat eye, and some mascara! I love this bombshell mascara. It adds so much length! I fill in my brows as usual using Anastasia Brow Powder, and set it with my Benefit Speed Brow Gel. I highlight my brown bone as well as my lower waterline with NYX wonder pencil. It brightens everything up!

pink lip

Lips and final touches:
  • Cailyns Tinted Balm in Acid Pink
  • Color your Smile Gloss in Nude
  • MAC Fix +

Speaking of a bold lip! I rarely stray from my favorite nude combo, but for ladies night, why not bump up the fun! I like to start by using whatever product is left on my beauty blender and covering my lips with it. It helps with bleeding. Using the cute little brush that comes with the Cailyns balm, I line my lips and then fill in the center. I dab the smallest amount of gloss in the center of my lip, and use my ring finger to to sheer it out just a little bit. To finish the look, I use MAC Fix + to set the entire look. I also love Model in a Bottle & All Nighter by Urban Decay. A makeup setting spray is the BEST for keeping the "cocktail makeup melt" far away ;)

sock bun

I almost always go straight for Thick Bombshell Curls when going out, but I just wanted to switch it up a little this time around! A simple sock bun works excellent for keeping your hair out of your face while dancing the night away. I add volume by using the end of my teasing brush to pull some hair up and out of the hair tie.
