Little Wooden Shoes

When we were in Italy for our honeymoon a few years ago (how has it already been 2 years?!) I ran out of clothes for a fancy dinner so we stopped in a little Italian store and I bought a pretty black lace dress. I still wear it all of the time and always jump for joy when someone asks me where it's from. I get to say "ohhh, I got it in Italy" like i'm some sort of fancy person who shops there on the weekends. Truth is, it was the equivalent of 20 US dollars and i'm the farthest thing from fancy you've ever seen ;)

I'm telling you this story because there is just something so special about wearing a piece you know was made with excellent craftsmanship from a place that specializes in their craft. I can't stop wearing these Sandgrens Clogs because they make me feel like a cultured Swedish princess! They are made by hand in Sweden and the quality is incredible.

I'll be honest, it feels a little weird wearing wooden shoes at first, but as soon as your feet break them in, they're the comfiest little heel for chasing around little ones! I'm not a high-heel wearer, so to have just a little lift makes me feel polished without aching feet.

Now onto this dress- um..shirt? This thing is TINY! I know after one wash it will become a bathing suit coverup or tied and tucked into a pair of shorts because i'm one bend and snap away from showing just a bit too much of my ...well, assets. :)

Once again, i'm so sorry for the radio silence the last few days! Same old excuse, different day. It's all I can do to get dinner on the table lately, but Sawyer recently started sleeping through the night (praise the Lord lets throw a party) and now that we have some time in the evenings, I have blog post ideas out the wazoo! Can't wait to get back in the game, ya'll. Happy Friday Eve!

Until Next Time,

  2. So glad you posted this! I have had my eye on that dress for a few weeks now and am always hesitant about dresses lengths - so thanks for giving us the little hint on that :)
