DIY Spray Tan Prep

Bad news, ladies.

Or depending how you look at it, good news. Bikini season is just about upon us, and if you're like me your skin is just not ready! Jake and I had date night on Friday, and it was warm and gorgeous out and I really wanted to wear a dress, but I just couldn't subject the world to my dull, pale skin. It was time for a spray tan-stat, and I have the best ever prep routine that is sure to make your skin shine.

First you're going to go ahead and gather your supplies. You'll need plain sugar, olive oil, an herb of your choice (mint and rosemary are great!) to create an awesome, natural exfoliator. Then you'll follow up with the new Dove Dry Oil Moisture body wash. I’ve partnered with Dove to tell you all about their New Dove Dry Oil Collection featuring their Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar and Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash. And let me tell you, it's amazing! When your husband steals your body wash, you know it's good ;)

Step one is simple, take a 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and your herbs, and combine in a small dish. This makes a wonderful gift as well! While showering, focus on your elbows, knees, or anywhere else particularly dry and dull from the changing seasons.

The scrub is wonderful for exfoliating, but it can be sticky, and you really need something to lock in that moisture before spray tanning! Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash is perfect because it maintains and nourishes skin’s protective layer during cleansing and replenishes 12x more skin natural nutrients than competitors while the Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar contains ¼ moisturizing cream and Moroccan Argan Oil to gently cleanse and care for your skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Side note- the dry oil beauty bar is perfect for your gentleman! My husband much prefers a bar cleanser and he has been stealing this out of my shower caddy!

9 in 10 women are concerned about having dry skin, Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash goes beyond basic moisturizing to help women nourish and protect their dry skin. Want to know how to make your spray tan last? MOISTURIZED SKIN! When your skin is dry, it flakes off (gross), and therefor your tan doesn't last and you get that blotchy look that no one loves in their spray tan. If you moisturize with lotion before spray tanning, your tan won't adhear to your skin, but to the lotion. Which is why the Dove Dry Oil Moisture collection is so perfect. Lock in that moisturized and cleansed skin, and give yourself a long lasting, beautiful tan.

When you hop out of the shower, use some lotion on your hands and feet to keep them from absorbing too much, and then follow up with your favorite self tanner, and once its nice and dry, apply your lotion all over. This 3 step process has never failed me, and as a half polish, half german gal, I know a thing or two about spray tanning pale skin ;)

Until Next Time,

  2. Yes, ma'am! It will go on so much more smooth :) The red one is a favorite of mine! It's from Walmart.com last year. I ordered a size up to make room for my belly last year, but it still fits pretty well this year! Thanks for coming by, girl! xo!
