31 Week Bumpdate + I Need advice!

31 weeks and feeling every bit of it ;) As of today, we have 62 days until our original due date, and although 62 days seems really, really REALLY short, 8-9 weeks sounds a little like 8-9 years at this point!

Because we have such a short time until baby day, I really don't want to buy any more maternity wear at this stage, so i'm definitely having to get creative with my closet. It's amazing when the bump starts to get so large that even your maternity clothes get tight! All the joy of growing a little baby human, though :)

I wore this dress for my 20 week bumpdate and it's amazing to see the difference 11 weeks later! I genuinely thought I was big back then...that's just hilarious ;)

I've started to gather supplies for the hospital and our stay there, and I have to share this gorgeous  Alma Rose Lydia bag. I'll be sharing more next week, but seriously, this thing is the most organized, gorgeous tote i've ever owned and it's going to be perfect for baby + mom supplies once our little guy arrives.

Denim Shirt // Dress // Similar Belt // Similar Sandals // Bag: Alma Rose c/o

Okay, enough chatting... let's get to the bumpdate!

How far along? 31 weeks

Total weight gain: 20ish pounds. Maybe a little more!

Maternity clothes? It's a sad day when even your maternity clothes don't fit ;) I am really trying to get creative with my regular clothes, like a chambray top over a maternity dress, it helps to make it a little different than the same outfit every day, and keeps me from buying anything else maternity!

Stretch marks? My stretch marks have been so weird! I've mentioned my scary purple ones on my hips, and then I have a couple on my inner thigh too. But none on the belly where it seems most of my growing has happened!

Sleep: I can't even talk about it. Okay, maybe i'm being dramatic, but really, sleep is that bad. Our little guy likes to keep me nice and awake by moving up a storm the second I lay down, and I wake up at least 5 times a night to pee. They say it's all in preparation for when he arrives and the real sleep deprivation begins!

Best moment this week: The other night we were laying in bed and he was having his usual dance party in my belly, and he pushed so hard up against my belly that we could literally see his foot outline. It.was.awesome. It makes it feel so much more real that there is an actual human being in there taking up all your breathing room!

Miss Anything? Being normal size! And I miss cooler weather. This sweet boy is like a permanent furnace keeping me at a toasty million degrees all day, mixed with my waddling around, I just miss the days of being cool, and walking normally ;)

Movement: Oh yeah! He is between 3.5-4 pounds right now, and the movements are very, very strong and intense. Sometimes a kick or somersault will take my breath away! I haven't gotten sick of that, though. The second I don't feel him I start to miss it, so i'm trying to soak it in while I still can!

Food cravings: Sweets! I always want sweets. The market by my house started stocking their delicious caramel apples and I have been in heaven! It's healthy because it's fruit, right? :) Also, peaches! I eat 2 peaches every single day. They're scrumptious this time of year!

Anything making you queasy or sick: I don't have a lot of room in my belly, so if I eat too much I do feel sick to my stomach, but this has been the one symptom that hasn't come back full force, and i'm so grateful!

Gender: Little baby boy :)

Labor Signs: None! I have literally had maybe 3 or 4 braxton hicks in the past 2 weeks, whereas in some of my earlier weeks I was having 2-3 a day! As of our last doctors appointment he is head down in birthing position, so that is encouraging, but as far as contractions this little boy is happy to stay put.

Symptoms: Have you ever seen that meme "everything hurts and i'm in hell"? Well...

Belly Button in or out? As outie as outie can be! You can see this little pop-up timer through all of my clothes!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: I've stayed really happy through pregnancy. Even on the harder days, I am really grateful for this healthy pregnancy. Now the nursery is complete, he has a drawer full of onesies, and I think if anything i'm just impatient to meet him! And squeeze him! And smother him with lovins. Although, Jake wouldn't give me a foot rub the other night and I just about lost it, so the moody moments definitely come. :)

Looking forward to: Cooler days! I felt guilty yesterday for not posting anything about my favorite day of the year (the beginning of the 'ERs!) but I am truly SO excited that the best time of year is here! I'm excited to start putting pumpkins on the front porch, taking our maternity photos, and relaxing a little bit before he makes his grand arrival. We're taking it easy until D-Day. No more big projects, no more deadlines, just playing the waiting game!

If you follow me on SnapChat (AbsolutelyKylie) or Instagram @absolutelyarkansas you may have seen all of these candid bump photos, but I really can't believe how much he has popped in these last few weeks!

My sweet friend Kayla over at A Darling Dream sent me this sweatshirt and I can't WAIT for the temperatures to drop so I can wear it!

31 weeks exactly

We had an updated due date of October 27th several weeks ago, and I can't help but HOPE that our little guy makes his appearance before Halloween so I can put him in this!

30 weeks, excuse my dirty mirror ;)

On a non baby related note, I wanted to share something with you guys we've been thinking about a lot lately. When I started this blog, it was to document our adventures from moving to Arkansas from our home in San Diego. It really was just a place for me to share some silly DIY projects, and post a million pictures for my Grandma. It's definitely evolved since then, and i've felt that Absolutely Arkansas just didn't fit the direction in which the blog has been headed for awhile. So, Jake and I spent weeks brainstorming the perfect name, and we finally found one, and bought up the domain just to be safe!

I'm nervous though, as everything from Instagram to my Gmail account are branded for Absolutely Arkansas, and it seems like a huge change to rebrand everything! Would you guys still stick around and read under a new blog name? Do you have any experience with one of your favorite blogs changing their name? The content would still be the same around here, we would just call ourselves something different! I'd love to hear your opinions, i'm nervous about it and don't want to make any rash decisions!

Thanks so much for reading and following along on this journey, you know how much I love sharing it with you. If you're interested in anything else pregnancy related, including all prior bumpdates, click here!

Until Next Time,
xo Kylie

  1. Kylie, I love your adorable preggo belly!! In regards to changing your name, I would most definitely stick around, I love reading your blog! However, I can speak from experience that I lost a lot of followers when I changed my blog's name back in January and I have slowly been working to regain followers still. Hopefully you will be more successful with the transition, but just wanted to throw that out there. I did notice though, that those that were always interacting on my blog through comments and likes, etc did stick around. Hope this helps :)

  2. Your readers will read your blog no matter what you call it :) I wouldn't stress about that for a second! I'd say if you lose followers, just based on experience through work, that they weren't loyal followers in the first place, just another pageview to up your bounce rate ;) Your bump is so cute! I still can't believe they moved you up to October, eeek so excited!!! Oh I hope he is an Oct baby!! I am starting to wonder if ours is going to make an appearance at the end of September when the next "super moon" comes out, but I'm keeping my legs crossed so she stays put until Oct!! Haha! Is that going to be your diaper bag? #cutestmomontheblock

  5. I'll follow ya wherever you go! I rebranded a few years ago and loved it! For me, it was time for my blog and it's name to encompass more of me and life in general instead of strictly fashion. I still haven't gotten around to buying my domain though because it's a scary commitment! I don't think my answer is very helpful for you haha. Whoops!

  7. I follow a lot of bloggers who changed the name of their blog at some point so I don't think it's a problem! Just make sure to redirect your current URL to your new one!

    1. Yes yes and yes! Plus, content isn't going to change, we're just going to have a new URL, so it shouldn't be that dramatic, right?! Thanks for your support, Emilie :)
