My Girly Office/Guest Room Reveal!

Happy Monday, ya'll!

Oh wait, it's Tuesday. Don't you just love long weekends? :) This weekend we busted out SO much housework and with the help of my good lookin' baby daddy, I finally whipped this room into shape!

Gallery Wall: Collected // Pull Out Couch: Ikea //  Pillows: Collected, Home goods! // Bar Cart: Ikea

This room has been a collection of lots of blood, sweat, and tears, and i'm so happy about how it turned out! It's such a functional work space while also being a nice home to house guests in when they come to visit.

Pink Stool: Target // Side Table: Home Goods // Floral Arrangement: Home Goods

I collected frames for this gallery wall for MONTHS! Every single time I found a fun white frame with a cute print inside, it came home with me. With no real plan other than to cover the entire wall, we got pretty lucky that it turned out as balanced as it did!

I'm not sure if mixing metals is still considered a faux-paux, but I can't get enough of it. My silver side table, the gold and pink accents everywhere, and the silver bar cart all add to my favorite parts of this room.

This couch has been the best purchase ever! We previously had a daybed in here, and it just wasn't working for when we had more than 1 guest, however, this room is used as an office far more than it is a guest room, so a full bed wouldn't make sense either. This couch is the perfect solution as it folds out into a double bed. We just bring out the linens and mattress pad and it works perfectly!

Drapes: Home Made with Fabric from Hobby Lobby // Faux Built In Bookcases

Chair: Very Old, local boutique // My Home Desk

I spent this morning eating breakfast in this room because the bright colors and cheerful space are so happy for my heart! Since I will be outnumbered with boys this Fall, it's so lovely to have one room in the house that is all things pink and sparkly. It's definitely my favorite room in the house!

To save money on home decor, shop your house before stepping foot in a store! I have boxes and boxes in our attic of decor that isn't being used, but might be one day. Never be afraid to ask your relatives if they have some of the same. It could end up saving you hundreds (even more!) and you can get some really cool pieces along the way.

When it comes to attacking a room from scratch, I couldn't recommend taking your time more. I usual make a decor plan with what I envision for the space, change it, change it again, and then take way longer than my planned timeline. When you live with a space for awhile you're bound to change your mind, so don't rush it, and don't settle! I've wanted to change this drapes for months and months, but nothing has tickled my fancy yet so i'm not spending money until it feels just right. It's a marathon not a sprint :)

I've had so much fun chronicling this room makeover on the blog, click the links below to see some of the projects that brought our office together!

    1. It has been working GREAT for us! I love sitting in there eating breakfast, while still having a big enough bed for friends. Bring on the house guests! :)

  6. I love it! I'm going to check out the ikea bed the next time we're in KC. So the couch pulls out to a full size bed? We have a twin mattress in our guest room now and it doesn't work when we have multiple guests visiting.

  8. It looks so good! Great idea about the fold out couch rather than a full bed in there! That will definitely help it stay more open!
