Get Unready with me! Dry Skin Edition

Happy, Monday gals!

Who else is LOVING this weather?! I'm in heaven! It's so nice to see the sun again after a cold Winter, and I am loving dresses lately as all my pants are becoming just a wee bit too tight ;)

Among the other symptoms of pregnancy, one of the least fortunate has got to be how it made my skin react. I already have very sensitive acne-prone skin, but the hormones coursing through my veins have taken it to a completely different level!

Most topical acne treatments aren't considered completely safe for pregnancy either, so i've just been making sure to clean very deep every day, but that comes with dry-skin consequences! That's right, if I don't wash my face, I break out. If I do wash my face, it becomes dry and flakey. I can't win! Fortunetly, i've switched up my routine a bit using some old favorites (and new!) to deep clean, while making sure to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I know it will be 5 more months before my skin returns back to somewhat normal, but in the meantime, this routine has been a lifesaver! Bonus! Almost all of the products are available at your local drugstore!

Watch the video below to see how I get "un-ready" :)

Products Used:

1. Neutrogena Naturals Face c/o Influenster. I absolutely LOVE these facewipes! One wipe will take off all of your makeup in a cinch! They smell delicious and are so gentle on your skin at the same time. I'm a huge fan! The best part is the #wipeforwater campaign that Neutrogena is sponsoring. Neutrogena claims that by using these makeup wipes, you won't even need to wash your face therefor saving water! A win on your water bill for the month, and a win for the environment! If you head over to Wipe for Water you can pledge to use Neutrogena Naturals face wipes as well and Neutrogena will donate to the Nature Conservancy! Pretty cool, huh?

2. First Aid Beauty Cream Cleanser used with Clarisonic Mia 2- My Clarisonic has completely switched up my beauty routine! I do find, however, that even with the sensitive brush head, using it every single day is a bit drying, so I only use it every other evening. It pairs AMAZING with my FAB cream cleanser to clean deep while injecting moisture.

3. Nuance Salma Hayek Glow Facial Oil c/o- I have RAVED about Nuance Salma Hayek products before, and that is because they are such incredible quality and a great CVS price. This is a dry-oil so it absorbs into my skin so quickly and I haven't had any trouble with it breaking me out, I just find that it really helps on those extra-dry days.

4. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream- I love this moisturizer at night because it is so nourshing while still absorbing quickly. Its another all natural moisturizer that is perfect for sensitive skin.

5. Nuance Salma Hayek Restoring Eye Cream c/o - Another one of my favorite Nuance Products! This is another deeply moisturizing product that i've had no problems with breaking me out. I did notice after using for about a week that my eyes were so much brighter in the morning and I didn't need half as much concealer! I don't have wrinkles yet, but you can never stop fighting them too soon ;)

6. Hempz Lip Balm- No scent, no taste, just the perfect lip balm for bedtime. You can't forget your lips when going to sleep!  It doesn't feel sticky at all and one tube will last you forever.

This routine has been working magic for me over the past few weeks! Have you been having any skin issues lately? Let me know your tips in the comments below!

Until Next Time,
xo Kylie

  1. I feel like I always have skin issues! haha. I have dry/oily acne prone skin which is such a fun combo : ) Glad you have found a combo that is working for your skin! I recently read something about coconut water being good for your skin, so I'm gonna give that a shot soon!

    1. I can't even handle coconut water! I've tried and tried but for some reason it still tastes awful to me! Let me know what you think!

  2. My face was SUPER clear the first 10-11 weeks of pregnancy! Like, it was a miracle. So bizarre. Then BAM, the acne is back! It's crazy! I've already bookmarked two of those items you mentioned. I typically get in the habit of just wiping my face off (makeup) and using some acne clarifying lotion at night, but I really need to get a good anti-aging moisturizer and some good eye cream! Along with Stacie above..coconut oil is GREAT for your skin! That's all my husband uses on his face and body!
