Baby Rose Growing: 14 Week Bumpdate

I've got to be honest, I really, really, reallllllly thought i'd be "that girl" that did chalkboards or fun pictures or held fruit next to my belly to document this growing bump. But here we are halfway through 14 weeks and i'm still not feeling myself, and as each week zips on by I realize "I didn't take any fun picture this week!" So i'm just going to keep it real and give ya a quick little update now and again when I can remember to take a bump picture...which is totally starting to pop out!

How far along? 14 weeks and a few days!

Total weight gain: -10 pounds. Morning sickness is real, y'all! Although at my last appointment I was up 2 pounds which I guess puts me at -8. Hooray for gaining! But seriously, you'd think losing 10 pounds would make a difference in what I look like, nope. Still puffy as ever ;)

Maternity clothes? I haven't bought anything yet, but the day is approaching! All of my pants are being fastened with a good ol' hair-tie and I know days in my regular jeans are numbered.

Stretch marks? none yet!

Sleep: sleeping whenever I can. Sleepiest human ever = me. I do wake up about 3 or 4 times a night to pee which stinks but I sleep pretty solid other than that.

Best moment this week: Only NINE days to go until we find out if little one is a miss or mr.!

Miss Anything? I just miss feeling like myself. I'm hoping in the next few weeks the puking stops and I can start being a little more human! But nothing I miss comes close to how happy I am to have a wiggly little Rosebud in there.

Movement: Sorry to make things weird, but i'm not sure if i'm feeling little butterflies or if it's just gas...ha! It feels like a goldfish swimming through my lower abdomen, but i've never done this before so I don't know what it's supposed to feel like!

Food cravings: I would do anything for a turkey sandwich on white bread. I really miss cold cuts.

Anything making you queasy or sick: A better question would be, is anything not making you queasy or sick?

Gender: We find out in 9 days! Our doc made a "guess" at our last appointment but you never know what could change as it was still pretty early!

Labor Signs: Nope!

Symptoms: headaches have been really bad this week. Tylenol just doesn't do it for me so i'm just trying to make it through. They say the 2nd trimester is where it's at, right?!

Belly Button in or out? innie

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY! I can start bawling my eyes out at the drop of a hat, but overall, i'm pretty darn happy.

Looking forward to: Finding out if baby is a boy or a girl, feeling real movements in the next few weeks, finishing home renovations, and buying some stretchy pants this week ;)

Things have certainly not been as easy as I expected them to be, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Last night my girlfriend and I were talking about a friend of hers who is dealing with infertility, and although we never dealt with that, it did take several months before we finally conceived and those were some of the hardest months emotionally! My heart aches for anyone experiencing the longing for a family without answers to why its not happening yet. It really puts it into perspective for me when i'm complaining about how awful I feel. So many women would do anything to feel awful if it meant they were carrying a sweet little pea. I am overwhelmingly grateful for this healthy little guy or gal, even if i've made a permanent home on the bathroom floor. ;)

And for fun...here are the last few weeks of bump photos I could find. :)

This was my plan in the beginning...to make fun little graphics each week. It lasted all of one week until I said yeah.right. ;)

Right around 7-8 weeks it was like all of the fluid in my entire body went to my belly! It has started to deflate a little and I think i'm getting a real bump now and not just a dinner bump ;)

Thanks for checking in! I'm so glad I get to share this journey with you.

Until Next Time,
xo Kylie

  2. Girl you know I LOVED this! I thought second trimester would cure all my problems, but weeks 12-13 and part of week 15 were TOUGH! And I agree, it is VERY hard to remember to take a picture each week! I'm not sure how long I'll last! I just keep telling myself that I know I'll want to make a pregnancy photo book and to stick to it! Eh. We'll see. You are looking so darn adorable! I'm so curious as to what your Dr. "guessed"! I'm tempted to say girl, because I feel like it'd be much easier to guess boy from a dr's perspective :) I'm always wrong though! I wish we lived closerrrrrrrrr!!!

  5. Awww I'm sorry you feel sick! Have you tried sour candy? There are some great ones called "Preggy Pops" which you can find at a lot of maternity stores and online: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=72585&catid=183268&aid=338666&aparam=72585&kpid=72585&CAWELAID=120142990000003714&CAGPSPN=pla&kpid=72585

I've never been pregnant (although I get super car sick and use these for that haha), but some of my friends loved them during their pregnancies.

    Feel better! xx
