Master Bedroom, REVEALED!

Happy Monday, friends!

And even better, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I couldn't think of a better way to kick of 2015 then sharing pictures of our recently updated master bedroom.

This room was a serious labor of love. I started slowly decorating it in August, but truth be told, its amazing how pricey it all gets so it was a long 4 months of saving and making decisions based upon the budget. There are still a few things i'd like to update along the way, but considering where we started, i'd say there have been huge improvements! Let me remind you where we were last summer...

And where we are today!

Comforter: Barbara Barry Poetical// Throw Pillows: Home Goods // Wedding Pillow: Gifted ( I believe it was from Skymall!)// Blanket: HomeGoods, gifted // Bedskirt Here// Nightstands // Subway Art: Home Goods // Sunburst Mirrors //

Dresser: Ikea (so old! Sorry!) // Accessories: All over the place! Mostly discount places like Homegoods & TJ Maxx.// Monogram Art // Makeup Vanity // Makeup Vanity Stool

Hooray! I couldn't be happier with the transformation. Walking into our room now just feels so much lighter, brighter, and more our my style.

Gallery Frames // More Wedding Pictures HERE! // Lamps: Homegoods

There are still a few things i'd like to adjust here and there, i'd like to add some pretty new drapes, (these ones are made from sheets) and paint over our awful cream trim! You don't realize how truly un-white cream is until you surround it with white accessories.

Mirror: Lane Furniture, purchased at Homegoods (BEST STEAL OF MY LIFE!)

I absolutely love the wall to the right. Having a large mirror to see what i'm wearing every day has been a life changer! I don't know how we survived without one for so long. There was lots of coffee table standing to try to see the entire outfit in our living room mirror.

These wedding pictures bring a smile to my face every single day! It only took me 7 months to hang some but thank goodness I finally got them up, seeing memories from that happy day only reminds me not to murder my husband when he keeps me up all night with his snores. :)

Jacobs nightstand has his humidor I customized for a wedding gift. It was my way of adding some sort of manly to this room. ;)

Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o Use Code "holiday_absolutelyarkansas" for 15% off until January 15th!

My jewelry dish is actually a saucer that I inherited from my Great Grandma Smith's china collection. I love the dainty scalloped edges and that I can use it to store my wedding rings and lay out my jewelry for the next day. The cross on the right holds my favorite bracelets as well.

DIY Brooch Bouquet // Makeup Organizer ( I need five more of these- also it could use a wipedown..!)

Accessories: all over the place! Mirror & Brush Cups from HomeGoods, frames, gifted. DIY White Mirror

I blogged about it earlier in the year, but the addition of my vanity has made the biggest difference EVER in my morning routine. For the longest time I was doing my makeup in bed, and simply having a place to sit and keep things organized in the morning has completely rocked my world.

I still have some 2015 goals for our Master Bedroom, i'd love to see

  • New Drapes
  • Hardwood Floors
  • A big comfy rug
  • A New Vanity Bench
  • Cream- Trim-Be-Gone
  • and of course, we can't forget the janky headboard I still have yet to lay a finger on (DIY's don't always go to plan, y'all!)
I tried to link a source for everything underneath each picture, if there is something you're looking for that I didn't link up, please let me know and I will get it to you pronto.

If there is one thing I have learned while decorating this space it's that there is always someone with better taste, a bigger budget, and a less Janky Headboard, but as long as you love your space and it gives you happy-at-home feelings, then it's the best room in the house. :)

Until Next Time,
xo Kylie

  5. Love it Kylie! I'm in the process of finally doing our room too. We are almost at the 2 year mark and it's still very "lets try every idea ever then abandon it" looking. I vow before spring our room will be FINISHEDDD! I'm building built ins for a closet, ordered new quilt, making a duvet cover, and repainting our furniture to all match! It's gonna be cray cray

Also, I totally stand on our coffee table too and Reed got mad at me yesterday and bought me a $5 one from Wal-mart

  16. I love your style! Beautiful room. Just a heads up, Target has some reasonable headboards. I saw one similar to your diy, not sure it's as tall though.

  18. Getting it all into the bedroom. For many this isn't an issue, but for some it is. If your bedroom is up the stairs, around the corner and through a narrow door then you have to consider how you are going to get all that bedroom furniture in.
