Master Bedroom Inspiration

Happy Monday, readers!

I hope your day is off to a fantastic start.

Operation "complete our master bedroom" is in full effect in our house, and I seriously could not be more excited! The place is drab to say the least. Oh, you don't believe me? Let me share with you some quick iphone snaps I captured last night:

Nope. I didn't even clean up for the internet. ;) This room has not been touched since we moved in 18 months ago. Wait, I take that back...we did rearrange the room once, and I added my Makeup Station, but other than that...it's so blah.
I don't know why we always put this room on the back burner. Your master bedroom should be a retreat that makes you feel relaxed, happy, and at home...and ours is anything but. I present to you...the master
bedroom inspiration board:

First things first, we NEED a new bed. Jake just transitioned to working the same schedule as myself (for the 1st time in 2 years!) and our $250.00 queen I bought fresh out of high school is not cutting it for both of us and the beagle. I think this might be imperative for a strong marriage...not even being dramatic. :)

I want to update our headboard, and get some fun nightstands, like the ones above. I love fun, "manly" things for Jake's nightstand, like that Chrome alarm clock, and of course, fresh flowers (or fake...shh don't tell) for my nightstand will feel particularly "spa like!"

We're currently saving to put gorgeous hardwood floors in our living room, hallway, and master bedroom, so once we have those in, a faux sheepskin rug will be just what I need on my piggies in the winter time.

I'm crazy obsessed with the soft gray Censational Girl used in her master bedroom. I've also already purchased the Poetical Bedding from Bed Bath & Beyond, and I can't wait to use it once we upgrade our mattress!

I absolutely love the subtle accent wall in the above two pictures. I think when we repaint, it will add so much pretty interest to the room spicing up one wall.

Do you remember, ions ago, when Jake and I made our DIY Tufted Headboard? Well it's held up great, but I really want to change the shape, like the above picture. It would totally make it a little more interesting and the brass accents are gorgeous.

So that's where we're I am at in gathering inspiration for our room. We officially starting working through it this last weekend, so hopefully it will start coming together enough to share on the blog soon.

Any tips for our space? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Until Next Time,

xo Kylie

  1. we are in the same boat. We moved in a year ago & the master bedroom has been the last thought. We did buy a new bedroom set, but other than that nada.

  2. Our master bedroom is pretty much a conglomerate of hand-me-down furniture. It's really the last place I've felt like decorating since no one ever sees it except the hubs and I. Eventually I will make it super cute, but until now, we're living the eclectic dream, haha

  4. I am amazingly surprised to see that Master bedroom makeover by the girl and me really like the bedroom bed design they are well decorated with a colorful pillow and bed sheet its all over very amazing. But I must suggest to every one when they going to make their bedroom like this they should buy a high quality mattress for your bedroom bed which takes a 5 star in your sleep and bedroom decoration.

  5. Conversely, the light finish and camel back of the Coaster daybed will complement deep colors perfectly. If you prefer a vintage look, try mixing antiques you've collected with the solid back Coaster daybed with a medium oak finish.http://www.easeofmobility.com/best-leg-lifter-guide/
