Shimmery Gold Engagement Makeup

Hello gorgeous friends!

Today I  am SO excited to announce that i've been asked to contribute to the awesome & inspirational wedding Blog, Bummed Bride . I basically DIED when I was asked to be their beauty contributor. What?! Me?! Beauty?! Huh?! Pretty much the coolest ever!

If you all need some wedding inspiration, or you just like to look at drop dead gorgeous wedding photos, RUN don't walk to go check it out!

For my first short & sweet post, I wanted to share with you a natural hair + makeup look for Engagement Photos or an Engagement party! This look is light gold & browns which look nice on just about any skin tone, and the hair is pretty & down, while still off of your pretty face!

Lets jump in, shall we?

For my face-

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation
  • Josie Maran Illuminator
  • Loreal Paris- Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer

It;s VERY IMPORTANT to use a foundation/primer/moisturizer without SPF in it for this look. SPF causes a white "cast" across your face when photographed. I simply mix the 3 on my hand, dot on my face, and blend with my Sedona Lace flat top foundation brush. I like to use the illuminators mixed in with my foundation, because it helps the light reflect off my face in the prettiest, "dewiest" way!

For my highlight & contour, I use-

  • Instant Age Rewind to highlight
  • Fit Foundation stick in Coconut to contour

Follow your normal highlight and contour areas, and blend well with your foundation brush. (A full post on how I HAC to come!)

At this point, go in with your beauty blender to smooth any spots, and absorb any excess product.

For Powders I use-
  • Maybeline Shine Free Loose Powder in Light
  • Flower Blush Bronzer Duo in Glow Baby Glow
  • Benefit Blush in Dandelion

Simply set your products with the loose powder, go over your contour with the bronzer, and apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. (gettin' glowy y'all!) Make sure you're blending after every step to ensure the most "flawless" application.

Don't forget you can watch THIS video for a full tutorial!

Moving onto my eyes-

You'll need

  • Eye Primer (I use Benefit Stay don't Stray)
  • Original Naked Pallette
  • Liquid Liner
  • Mascara
  • Brow Bar to Go
First, prime those pretty eyes and whip out your Naked Pallette

Start in Virgin, & highlight your inner corner, as well as your brow bone

Now hop into Sin and pat that onto the 2nd third of your eye. (right next to the corner highlight!)

From here, you'll tap your brush into Half Baked, and put that on the remainder of your lid, then using a clean brush, blend the colors so there are no visible transitions.

Next, using a fluffy crease brush, use Naked just above your crease

Lets get some depth in that crease, ladies! Using a shader brush, bring Buck all the way into your crease, and blend it out with a clean brush

To wrap it up, we're going to use Smog on the outer corner, and bring it lightly into the crease. Use Half Baked to line the inner corner of your lower lash line, and line the rest with Smog.

Now you just need to finish off with some liquid liner & mascara and Voila!

Hello Boys...I mean boy...that i'm engaged to.

If you're having a hard time following the pictorial, just click HERE to watch the video tutorial.

For hair, it's important to keep it out of your face! If you're taking pictures, you want the world to see that beautiful face of yours, as well as leave plenty of kissing room for your fiance ;)

I just gave my hair a good ole' blowout using This Method and then twisted to small sections up on either side of my head, securing with bobby pins.

Also, don't forget to whip out your polish and nail file to give yourself a quick mani...there is no doubt your left hand will be seeing lots of action!

Have you tried Flower polishes? My FAVE! This is "Make my Daylilly".

And that's it! SUPER quick, and a sure fire way to remind your fiance why he's marrying your hot piece of you know what! ;)

Please go check out my new favorite wedding blog, Bummed Bride and let me know if this tutorial worked for you!

Until Next Time,

xo Kylie

oh yes...and we can't forget our weekly Axl picture...

  1. What kind of liquid eyeliner do you use? I have a few I like, but I'm always looking for the next best one!

  2. Hey, Katie girl!

What I have on in this look is NYC Liquid Liner in "soft black" and then traced over with a thin liner brush dipped in "creep" in my naked pallette. My #1 holy grail liquid liner is FabuLiner by Jordana Cosmetics...it's like 2.99! Holla!
