The 5 Minute Up-Do & a GIVEAWAY!

  Hey, guys!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by this lovely Tuesday mornin'. I'm super excited about today's post, because I get to share my GO-TO updo, as well as giveaway some super adorable Haddie Bands to TWO lucky readers!

Okay lets get started, shall we?!

All you will need is 1 hairtie, and a hairband! Thats it! Not kidding!

Start with second (or third) day hair. Take a teasing comb and bump up the volume at your crown. Embarassing "come hither" face optional.

Next, you'll want to section out some hair from your ponytail. Use the "tail" of your comb to pick how much you'd like to let out.

After you're sufficiently bumped & sectioned, gather your hair into a low ponytail. You want this to be very loose,so only wrap it around once or twice depending on the thickness of your hair.

HERE COMES THE FUN di-do-di-do (see what I did there?)

Grab your favorite headband, I chose this fantastic pink tribal band from Haddie Mae Designs!

Slip it over the top of your ponytail as shown, and using the back of your comb, make sure you bump up any volume you lost.

Next, split your pony in half to make it easier to bring into your headband. I love the elastic on the back of my Haddie Band, it keeps it secure in place, and its almost as if it was made for my favorite up-do!

Now you will start folding your hair up into your hairband. Make sure your hair tie is low enough that it is hidden inside the hairband.

This shows one side (on the right) very tightly tucked, and the left, tucked loosely. This all depends on what style you're going for, but I chose to continue twisting my hair into my hairband until it was nice and tight!

To finish off your look, simply twist your front pieces away from your face, and tuck into the rest of your hair in the back.and voila!

SO simple and easy, and it looks perfect with a little black dress for date night ;)

Ignore the fact that i'm holding my Birchbox! I just wanted you guys to see how stinking adorable the turban style haddie bands were!!

  3. I lovelove headbands like that - however I ALWAYS have issues with them slowly slipping back and coming off. It's so annoying! I will have to check out these to see if the elastic in the back helps. Very cute designs too!! Your updo looks awesome. I've tried it before with semi-ok results, I saw it on pinterest and rushed to try it and probably did not take enough time to make sure everything was even (I'm one impatient little woman!). I will have to give it another shot after seeing how well yours comes out!! :)

  4. I see you talking about hair bands and I'm all like, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Van Halen....

Can you tell I'm a child of the 80s? Your hair is fabulous. I'll just live vicariously through you cuz I'll never be able to get my hair to do that. Even if it were as long as yours. :)
