Happy "ER's!"- Cupcake Flags

HAPPY FALL!!

September 1st is hands down my second favorite day of the year. (I know it’s September 3rd…but I’m going to recap the events of this weekend J ) Speaking of weekend, how was yours?! I love to soak up every second of those few days! If you want to keep up with me over the weekend…be sure to follow on Instagram and Facebook !
We watched a heck of a lot of football {GO RAZORBACKS!} spent the entire weekend in the lake, and ate SO MUCH FOOD. Oh yeah and we tackled a big-ole’ exciting paint project that I can’t wait to share with you next week. I also was SO EXCITED to see that I had been featured on TaterTots & Jello as well as Serenity Now ! How cool! My first features, and I am so grateful! I hope your Labor Day was nothing short of fantastic! I am literally out-of-my-mind excited to start going through my fall boxes, and begin decorating our new home for its first holidays. :)
I’m really going to do my best to hold out on fall crafts for a few weeks…especially because I have a TON of great home improvement projects to share in the coming weeks.
In the meantime I thought we could do a quick and easy party project that you can adapt to any event/party. Little cupcake flags! Of course I used them to celebrate the “ER’s”!

You will need
Scrapbook Paper

Tooth Picks

Microsoft Word

Hot Glue

A Printer

First, log into Word and Click the “Insert” tab on the top, and then click “Table”. You can draw your own. I did 2X8

Next, stretch your cells to the size you’d like them by dragging down the bottom line like so:

Now, pick your font, and type in your fun saying on only one side of the cells

This step is optional, but so my grid doesn’t print with a thick border, I right click the grid, select “Borders” and change it to a 1/8th point dotted line. It barely shows up that way!

Now it’s easy peasy! Simple load your scrap paper into your printer, and print!

Cut horizontally on the grid, and fold in half (The grid shows you exactly where "half" is!)

Now you simply need to add a dot of hot glue near the seam, insert your toothpick, and snip the ends, and you have yourself an adorable little treat flag!
I made some Banana Nut and Chocolate Chip Muffins (Recipe here and here ) and stuck the little flags in those to have for a festive breakfast. :)

Easy, right?! And free too! Who doesn’t have paper and toothpicks lyin’ around?
Stay tuned this week for a cool wedding craft, some pretty DIY art, and a Love List! :)
