88 cent blueberries and our last Ikea trip

Well today was a sad, sad but EXCITING EXCITING day in our house. We took a sad, solemn journey to Ikea for the very last time. We are blessed here in San Diego to have an Ikea pretty much 15 minutes from wherever you are. Bad news Kylie. No Ikea in Arkansas. WHAT?! HOW AM I GOING TO LIVE! Thats really how I felt when I first discovered that.  So today when we went there, we did not hold back, no siree bob, we stocked up, and I feel great :) Among our purchases were these sweet little spice Jars:

25 of them to be exact

these sweet glass water bottles, perfect for home made lemonade, or infused vodka

this AWESOME table top ironing board
ONLY 5 DOLLARS!

and these really heavy duty stainless steel cooking utensils
Yes, I am aware that this really does nothing for you and really isn't the most fantastic piece of blog knowledge i've ever instilled in your brain, but it gets better, OHH DOES IT GET BETTER!

As we were making our way through the last part of the store (where you have to find all of the furniture pieces to put together blekkk) we came across the "as is" section, which I always enjoy greatly, just to scope around to see if there was anything we could use. And there she was. In all her glory. THE most beautiful piece of clothing storage I have ever seen. I don't think dresser gives her enough justice. I was in love, and I had to have her. Lucky for us, she was PERFECT! We've been in the market for a new dresser for quite some time, as I hate mine! (Its the cute little piece of junk that you buy when you first move out of your mom and dads and need something quick, easy, and cheap!) The dresser, which was originally 350 dollars was discounted to 199 because they discontinued it. BRAND NEW, in the box, beautiful perfect dresser, for a 150 dollar discount, just cause they didn't carry it anymore. HOT DOG! I did a little twirl happy dance, broke out my wallet, and she was ours.

I.LOVE.IT.

Its the perfect blue-grey color I have going throughout the Arkansas house, and it will be the perfect addition to our bedroom. Now I just need a semi-matchy chest of drawers for the rest of our clothes, because I would like to believe I could fit all of our fold-ables in this pretty little thing, but lets be honest here, there is no way it will fit BOTH of our clothes, as much as I would like it to.

In other exciting news, on a quick sprouts trip on my way home tonight, I discovered bluberries were 88 cents a pound. I'll take 5 cartons please. I already polished one off as dessert for tonight. :)

Have you ever scored an awesome piece of furniture at a super discounted price?? Ever polished off an entire carton of blueberries in one sitting? I am eager to hear about your thrifty adventures.

  1. I don't have an IKEA anywhere near me (Kansas) and I'm really sad about it. It seems like they have the neatest stuff!

  3. You'll have to take trips to Dallas to visit Ikea. Good luck on the move. Arkansas is a great place to live!
