What's for dinner tonight?

Probably my least favorite question in the entire world. I think the closest Jake and I have ever been to breaking up have been because of this question. We can NEVER decide! One time we wasted half a tank of gas driving around San Diego trying to decide where to stop, just to come back home and make frozen burritos. Gourmet eating right there! He would eat fast food for every meal if he could, and I like healthy (for the most part). Tonight we mixed both worlds! One of my favorite Pinterest inspired meals, spicy Jalepeno bean dip, some organic Butte Creek IPA, and one of our favorite new shows, around the world in 80 plates on Bravo! Have you seen it? Its got that sexy Aussie Curtis Stone, and one of my fav's Kat Cora, (Jake reminds me every time she is on the screen that if given the opportunity he would leave me for her...I just don't have the heart to tell him she doesn't play for his team!!) Here is the recipe for this delicious dip..

2 cans vegetarian beans
low fat cream cheese
sliced pickled jalepenos
mexi blend cheese (or cheddar, whatever you have on hand)
some cayenne (optional)
some cumin (optional)
basil leaves (you don't really need these I just add them to everything, don't ask why)

I just put the oven on 350, layer the cream cheese, beans, and cheese, then sprinkle with the spices and toss in the oven until I feel the cheese is melted enough (like 15 minutes), when I take it out I throw a TON of Jalepenos on top (the spicier the better baby!)

Grab some chips, a couple of beers, and enjoy in front of the T.V all classy-like...and I promise you will have a go-to lazy dinner!

Here are some pics of our sophisticated dinner in front of the television...(p.s. i'm no food styler...these are straight up iphone pictures..what did you expect...freaking food network magazine?)

I am a BIG fan of this beer! I'm not a big IPA drinker (mostly cause it tastes like dirt and vinegar made a baby), but this is just hoppy enough, and its organic! I totally recomend it.

and there you have it, our easy peasy, full belly, under 5 dollars for everything, Wednesday night dinner.
